Adesh Chaturvedi

State Programme Officer, Rajasthan
United Nations Office for Project Services
Dr. Mahesh Kumar Arora, a professional having multitasking skills, contributed in disaster management programme at length. He put lot of efforts in the drought situation in Jaisalmer district of Western Rajasthan in the year 1983. That drought was one of the severe droughts after the independence. Dr. Arora was deeply involved in the operations in Bhuj, Gujarat after the disastrous earthquake in the year 2001. He was the Team Coordinator of the Indian Red Cross Society for that operation. Further, his involvement in disaster management operations after Tsunami attack in the Southern part of India in the year 2004-05 was remarkable. He was again designated as Team Leader of National Disaster Response Team of Indian Red Cross Society.
